At this stage I'll be glad the first round is over. It's been lukewarm. Friday, Saturday & Sunday are double sessions.

Should be a quicker night tonight, with van der Voort & van Gerwen playing. Interesting to see how MVG copes with (Worlds) expectation on his shoulders.

Hopefully Huybrechts comes through tonight, has a tough tie even without personal circumstances. Winner of him & Rand plays Newton.

Best game of the first round by a mile, both players played brilliantly at times & some of the finishing was top top class, Huybrechts was unlucky but you could see once Rand broke the throw in the final set he flagged instantly, only one winner after that. Hopefully round 2 will see a rise in standard & excitement, its been pretty lame so far thats for sure.

Tournament has finally come to life in the past few days. Round 2 had an astonishing amount of maximum's. Every game bar two (both on Saturday night) went five sets or more.

MVG was improved last night, averaged 102 despite a sluggish start. Pretty much all of the big names still remain, only Pipe and perhaps King/Winstanley didn't make round three.

Best section left is easily that Whitlock/Chisnall/Anderson/van Barneveld. Shame a semi final with Phil Taylor likely awaits the winner of that quartet. Hamilton is holding his own so far though. Taylor was improved last night, but Thornton delivered an absolute shocker. I'd have a bet on Taylor prevailing still should be get past Hamilton, which I'd reckon he will. He always seems to deliver enough to get past Whitlock, Barney & Anderson, the latter shows him far too much respect.

Only 13 more games left in the tournament. Six on the Thursday (final daytime session also) two quarter finals on Friday & Saturday, two semi's on Sunday & the final next Tuesday.

Cracking game between Whitlock and Chisnall. The 152 checkout from Whitlock was class.

Its going to take something special to beat Barney this week. Best I have seen him in years, making the game look easy.

Can call tonight one of the all time night's. Two QFs that lived up to it if the first night perhaps didn't.

Very disappointed with Hamilton last night, Taylor picked him off at will. May well have lost a Premier League place over it. (same goes for Anderson after his loss to van Barneveld)

Barney was very good. Whitlock didn't play too badly himself.

Onto tonight, Newton will be kicking himself. He should have won. How Wade is in the semi finals with his averages beggars belief. He's been fucking awful.

I'm still coming to terms with the Lewis v van Gerwen game. Took a few sets to warm up, but when it did it was exceptional. Lewis just could not produce in the final leg of the game, should have seen it out when he got the 2-1 lead in the last set. MVG did deserve it though.

Hopefully Wade gets dispatched tomorrow in the opening game, if he does then it doesn't matter who MVG plays in the final, it will be a cracker.

Premier League line up just been confirmed, a slight shake up. Now ten players instead of eight. And best of twelve legs.

Watching the BDO over the w/e had me thinking, aside from all the razzamatazz surrounding the SKY sponsored PDC events, the standard doesnt seem anywhere near as good as in the PDC, maybe there are stats for averages etc that prove otherwise but to me it seems a fair step down from the PDC version in terms of the playing standard.

Its like watching the Premier League or The Championship. Standard isnt as good but its far more open and exciting.

Rubbish so far, Delighted Adams is out can’t stand him. The highlight last night was Ruae David missing the board and throwing the dart on the floor. The face on the ref and Harms was priceless.

Gonna be six games played on the night when it visits here in mid April. Won't know fixtures for a few weeks as it'll by then be in the last eight phase.

Ireland just knocked out of the world cup there by Japan in the last 16. Shocking they were.

An ok start to the Premier League.

Thornton got the win in the end. Nearly blew it when Hamilton got back to 5-5 from 5-1 but Thorn got it back in the nic of time.

Wade's first opening night win in a few years. Newton wasn't on his doubles. Poor from both.

Barney played well. Anderson really fucking pisses me off with his laughing after a missed double. Long campaign ahead with those doubles. Laughing at a crucial juncture of the match.

Whitlock had an easy win. Lewis is another one off-form. He has Taylor next week, he really could do with finding a spark for a week's time.

Taylor doesn't know when he's beaten. MVG should have seen him off though.
