Cousin's Dozens, Oldham are 8/1 to beat Everton at Ice Station Zebra. Should a punter lump on Oldham or should the punter invest at 16/1 for Leeds to win at Man City.

Of all the giant killers in the last round, Latics are the only team to win a game since then. The caretaker manager has a plan! If Latics win, it'll be the biggest result in the Club's history. Heart says lightning can strike twice, head says Leeds are more likely to win, but a draw would be a good result for both.

    Bet responsibly!

Cousins'dozens, glad I took your advice cos I lumped on the draw at 3/1. The Latics are now going to Goodison Park, which has a long association with Shamrock Rovers. On September 27th 1952, Tommy Eglington scored five goals against Doncaster Rovers in the old English League Division 2. Goodison Park reverberated to the sound of Eggo, Eggo, Eggo. On September 21st 1949 Ireland beat England 2-0 at Goodison Park. Peter Farrell who with Tommy Eglington was transferred from Shamrock Rovers to Everton in 1946 scored the second goal that day. Tommy Eglington did not play in that match as Capt. Tom Scully who was a director of Shamrock Rovers and a member of the big five who picked the Irish team chose Tommy O'Connor to play outside left because Rovers wanted to transfer Tommy O'Connor to an English club. Tommy O'Connor played in the match and a month later he was transferred to West Bromich Albion where he subsequently broke his leg a year later and was out of football. Tommy Eglington died in 2004 and a host of Everon Legends including Brian Labone attended his funeral. There is a long connection between Shamrock Rovers and Everton and hopefully this relationship will bloom and strenghen in the years ahead.

Well done. A pint in the Maldron next time I'm over will suffice, and we'll drink a toast to Matt Smith.

David Moyes was in the PNE team that played Latics in the Isle of Man in '97, when the crowd, including many Hoops, sung for 90 minutes "How many pints did Gregan have?" ('The Biggest Club' will tell you all about it one day), resulting in the miscreant Gregan being fined two weeks' wages. Gregan went on to play for Latics and got fined two weeks' wages for two more separate offences, adding extra verses to the song.

I think we may have to ask Moyes that question once again at Goodison.

Cousins's Dozens, I think it would be in order to ask David Moyes how many pints did Gregan have. I also think it would be in order to drink a toast to
Matt Smith in the Maldron. Nice pay day for Oldham at Goodison. 500,000 Sterling will give the Latics a timely boost and give them the boost needed
to help avoid the drop to Division 2.

A Latics supporter has written a piece reliving the last gasp equaliser against Everton last Saturday.

For all those who cannot understand why we go to the lengths we do to support Latics (or Hoops), it's for the very rare moments like that one - they're priceless, and can never be replicated from an armchair or bar stool.

Fair play CD. Enjoy these moments. As we all know you will!

Read that the chap who got the equaliser threw his jersey into the crowd and got fined a weeks wage: £400

The Chairman runs a tight ship with the Club losing money weekly, and players were told to retain their jerseys due to a shortage - they've plenty of 'Big Dec' size in the Club Shop, but a seamstress is having to take them in at the sides for the players. Money is pouring in with this Cup run and everyone suddenly wanting to jump on the bandwaggon, but apparently it's not easy to get more jerseys quickly from some foreign sweatshop.

All this is making the Chairman look foolish. He hasn't yet decided whether to fine Smith. He said: “What people don’t realise is they don’t make one-off Oldham shirts. We can’t order 20, 50 or even 100 – it has to be more. It’s a case of just doing as you’re told and nobody does that. We are lacking in standards.”

Perhaps when he realises Baxter swapped his with Baines and Furman swapped his with Pienaar, it'll make his mind up.

The irony of Smith throwing his jersey into the crowd is that the recipient is a Man City fan, who has been pictured in the local newspaper outside Boundary Park holding up the jersey!

Why you should never leave a Coventry City game early

A caller to BBC Coventry and Warwickshire after last night's Crewe game to give out about Coventry City after a '0-0' draw.

Coventry won 2 -0 with late goals,

Reds Away publishes away-match police reports

BY VITTY, ON MARCH 6TH, 2013
Reds Away has taken the decision to display police reports of all United’s away games.
Occasionally, United’s ticket allocation is limited when various authorities cite safety problems, yet some do not say what they are.
Police reports from previous games can offer an insight into what the concerns may be and give fans an opportunity to understand what the police and others require them to do before ticket restrictions are limited.
The reports are displayed in the left-hand toolbar.
Reds Away is waiting for various police forces to respond to Freedom of Information Requests.
The only to refuse so far is South Wales Police in relation to the Swansea game. Reds Away has formally appealled.

Blackburn sacked Michael Appleton today after 67 days in charge! At least he lasted longer than Henning Berg who was sacked by Blackburn after 57 days......

    NOTE:
    1. The Youth Development of the entire Football League has approx 4%* of the money the Agents take.

    2. Referees, constantly bemoaned for their lack of professionalism and quality, have approx 4%* of the money the Agents take.

    * Or, as percentage of players' wages, a number so small I can't even write it on here.
